There is very little that can go wrong with your Hydronic Heating system, therefore minimal maintenance is required, but to keep your system working at optimal levels it is recommended that it is cleaned out every 5 – 7 years with a system called Power Flushing.
Like a car radiator, Hydronic Radiators do rust internally, forming a black sludge which moves around the heating system blocking pipes, valves and boilers. To clean your system, the Power flushing pump is simple connected into your heating system without having to remove the radiators and with minimal impact.
Power flushing is a highly effective cleansing operation which works by pumping water at a much higher velocity than usual through the system. This loosens and mobilises harmful corrosion deposits and removes them through the rapidly moving water. A cleaner is added to the system water which helps to loosen the rust.
The heating is turned on and radiator surfaces checked for cold spots. By flushing water through individual radiators and vibrating cold spots the sludge is loosened and removed from your pipework. Radiators and pipe work are power flushed until water samples are clean and pH neutral. A corrosion inhibitor is added to the clean water and your radiators are cleaned, balanced as ready for optimal heating.
